These include climate change; an emerging global shortage of clean water; record loss of biodiversity and long-term damage to ecosystems; pollution of water and the atmosphere; waste production and disposal; impacts of chemicals use and toxic substance disposal; damaged aquatic ecosystems; and deforestation and land degradation.
Safety, Health and Environment (SH&E) are important for everyone and for those who work for JBT Food & Dairy Systems B.V. and for those who operate equipment designed and supplied by JBT Food & Dairy Systems B.V. in particular; regardless the location where the activities are executed and regardless by whom.

SH&E is an integral part of our company policy. A sound policy is the awareness of the contribution and reponsibility everyone has for a safe and healthy environment. That is why JBT communicates on the safety and environmental aspects of all activities and the effect of these activities. During regular meetings employees are informed on the results and are also challenged to come up with new ideas for further improvement.
To support the process of continuous improvement an Environmental Management System has been implemented within JBT Food & Dairy Systems B.V.. It is based upon the Demming Circle (Plan, Do Check, Act) and is integrated in JBT's business management. It is ISO 14001:2004 certified and is translated into an Environmental Manual, that is part of the Company Manual.
